MEET THE Choreographer

Nkateko ‘Takkies’ Maswanganye is a well-known and respected South African choreographer and dancer who has been honing her craft from a young age, beginning formal study aged 9. She has trained in Modern, Contemporary and Hip Hop at some of the World’s best dance studios in the US, UK and South Africa including Millennium, Debbie Reynolds and the IDA. Versatile, she has also studied Ballet, Jazz and Spanish dance. She has choreographed African and International music videos and as a dancer has performed with International artists in UK, US, Germany, Dubai, Nigeria and Mozambique

Her experience and qualifications have placed her well on the path towards being one of South Africa's most established choreographers. Takkies is creative, innovative and sensual, and her expertise has been used to create performance and videos for the likes of singer-songwriter LeAnne Dlamini, Danny K, Chiano Sky, Mozambican star Gabriela, Mi Casa, Nandi Nmgoma, and the acclaimed Woolworths RE: Jeans commercial staring Victoria Secret model, the gorgeous Candice Swanepoel.

A frequent contributor to the media she has made numerous appearances on radio and television and in many magazine publications, most recently partnering with Cosmopolitan and Women’s Health readers to deliver Rockingheels classes. Utilising her creative talents she has supported brand campaigns for a range of companies including SAB, Sony, Adidas, Legit and Woolworths.
